On Friday, February 3rd, the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism and the Canada-India Centre for Excellence (CICE) hosted聽a symposium, entitled Shifting Frames: Urbanization, Slums, and Cities of the Future. The symposium brought together stakeholders from the communities, non-for-profits, government officials, and the academic researchers. The event was聽open to the public聽and included an聽afternoon of film screenings and talks.
The Azrieli school hosted聽a discussion panel on the topic of slum resettlement and urbanization, with a focus on Delhi. Panelists included Nicolas Reeves, Lorena Zarate, Puran Bhat, and Harry Sharma. The panel discussion was followed by聽a reception and film screening hosted by the聽Canada-India Centre for Excellence. The documentary聽My Gypsy Colony聽was聽presented by the film producer Martine Palmer and by Puran Bhat of the Kathputli colony.
