Hannah Thomson
MASc Candidate
Hannah graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Queen鈥檚 University, having started her studies at Acadia University. Her interest in biomechanics led her to an individual research project at Queen鈥檚 on utilizing gait analysis and activity classification for the aid in rehabilitation of post-stroke patients. Prior to joining the Impact Research Lab, Hannah completed a summer internship in the biomedical engineering department at the Ottawa Heart Institute to gain a deeper knowledge on applications of medical equipment in a clinical setting. Hannah will be conducting research on creating and analyzing experimental strain fields on porcine brain tissue to develop a better understanding of injury thresholds for mild traumatic brain injury.
