We warmly invite you to promote the��, one of the world’s leading design competitions in the bicycle industry.��

Since 1996, IBDC has been a platform for young designers to showcase creativity, gain global recognition, and connect with industry leaders. Many winning projects have attracted attention from manufacturers and turned into real products or collaborations.

This year’s theme is��Smart. Sustainable. Joyful Living.��Submissions are open from��July 1���ٴ��October 15. Highlights include:

BID Student wins European Product Design Award for Hobby & Sport / Sports Equipment: Winter

Devang Ghosh won the European Product Design Award for Hobby & Sport / Sports Equipment: Winter / Student for his SnowStride. SnowStride is an assistive device that aids in the sport of Snowshoeing for people with weak legs, making this winter sport more accessible.

European Product Design Award honors the best in the product design globally with the goal of advancing the appreciation of design worldwide.

The was created by the Farmani Group in 1985 to recognize the efforts of talented international product designers who aim to improve our daily lives with their practical, well-thought-out creations. We reward the strategic thinking and imagination which goes into making a great product.

BID Student is the Canadian National Winner of the James Dyson Award

Nicco Timpano ‘s capstone project, Uplift, was the Canadian National winner of the James Dyson Award. Nicco was selected from 50 inspiring entries and will now move on to the international competition. The International winner and sustainability winner will be announced on September 11, 2024.

2025 Student Design Competition

The IHA created its Student Design Competition in 1993 to invigorate the housewares industry with the fresh ideas of top student designers and to encourage young talent to consider careers in the housewares business. Now in its 31st year, IHA’s competition is unique in the U.S. as the longest-running, industry-sponsored, merit-recognition program for industrial design students.
