The text below is from the announcement on the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fass\/2021\/03\/history-student-chantal-brousseau-wins-digital-humanities-awards\/\">FASS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<main id=\"content\" class=\"l-cms l-cms--multicol\">The annual&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/dhawards.org\/?utm_source=CU-History&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=issue-6-the-view-from-the-4th-floor-paterson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DHAwards<\/a>&nbsp;are a community-driven event meant to celebrate the diversity of work that happens every year under the banner of \u2018digital humanities\u2019. There is a wide variety of work falling under several different categories. This year, we had four MA students and 1 BA student nominated, our&nbsp;<strong>best showing ever<\/strong>. Well done everyone! Being nominated for an award is a recognition of the innovative work that we do around here.<p><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday evening, the <a href=\"http:\/\/dhawards.org\/dhawards2020\/results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">winners were announced.<\/a> We are extremely pleased and proud to say that Chantal Brousseau\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/digiarch.netlify.app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">course blog from HIST3000<\/a> Introduction to Digital Archaeology was nominated in the category of \u2018Best Exploration of DH Failure\/Limitations\u2019 and\u2026&nbsp;<strong>it won!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Critically examining what works (or not) and why, along with the implications for what we can know, is a key aspect of what makes digital work in history and the humanities more broadly what it is; extremely strong pieces from faculty in the US and from various journals were also up for consideration in this category this year. Chantal\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/hist-digitized.netlify.app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thoughtful examination<\/a> of her own work in the context of the broader historiography was powerful and persuasive.
