April 12, 2019 \u2013 \u201cReligion: Out of Bounds\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies as well the Religion Department of the College of the Humanities of 杏吧原创 University is inviting you to attend its Annual Student Colloquium, “Religion: Out of Bounds.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite faculty, students, the public (and administrative staff!) to attend the Colloquium where graduate and honours students from 杏吧原创, Ottawa, Concordia and Nipissing will be presenting research on a diverse range of themes related to religion. Please see the schedule on the poster<\/strong> attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 18, 2019 – \u201cPlease, Don\u2019t Drink and Drive: Labatt\u2019s Campaign to Hold Drinking Drivers Accountable in the Age of Neoliberalism\u201d with Matthew Bellamy<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Date: Thursday, April 18, 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time: 7 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place: Ottawa Public Library Main Branch (Metcalfe and Laurier)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Matthew Bellamy is one of 杏吧原创 University\u2019s outstanding teachers. In 2005 he was named in Maclean\u2019s Magazine<\/em> as one of Canada\u2019s most popular professors. In 2015 Maclean\u2019s<\/em> also called Matthew\u2019s class \u201cThe Canadian Brewing Industry\u201d one of Canada\u2019s \u2018cool courses\u2019. In 2009 he was a finalist in TVO\u2019s BIG IDEAS<\/em> <\/em>Best Lecturer Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Bellamy teaches in the History Department and is the foremost authority on the history of brewing in Canada. His publications on the subject are legion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 4, 2019 \u2013 \u201cMemories of Mogadishu Conference\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In partnership with the Ottawa Art Gallery, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), MCIS Language Solutions, the Catholic Centre for Immigrants, 杏吧原创 University, TakingITGlobal and Concordia University, this conference will explore the use of oral history and digital archives in preserving cultural heritage and collective memory in post-conflict societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us at the Ottawa Art Gallery on May 4th, 2019 from 9:30AM to 5:00PM<\/strong> as we bring together Somali diaspora from around the world to explore the use of oral history, memory, and migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
