Full details are available on the CFIHP webpage: <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csids\/canadian-foreign-intelligence-history-project\/\">https:\/\/carleton.ca\/csids\/canadian-foreign-intelligence-history-project\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will be an opportunity discuss the documentation available through the CFIHP database and opportunities for research and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"july-17-22-2017\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>July 17-22, 2017<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Historical Thinking Summer Institute<\/strong><br>\nThe Historical Thinking Summer Institute is designed for teachers, curriculum developers, professional development leaders, historians, museum educators and curators who want to enhance their expertise at designing history programs, courses, units, lessons, projects, or educational resources that explicitly focus on historical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees of the 2017 Historical Thinking Summer Institute will participate in a variety of activities including presentations and workshops, learning activities at the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum, discussions of readings, guest<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>lectures, and group work to explore six historical thinking concepts: evidence, significance, continuity &amp; change, cause &amp; consequence, perspective-taking, and the ethical dimension of history. For more information visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadashistory.ca\/HTSI\">http:\/\/www.canadashistory.ca\/HTSI<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"announcements\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Announcements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"ecampusontario-releases-calls-for-proposals-prof-shawn-graham-would-be-happy-to-discuss-this-with-interested-colleagues\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>eCampusOntario releases Calls for Proposals &nbsp;&#8211; Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/history\/people\/shawn-graham\/\">Shawn Graham<\/a> would be happy to discuss this with interested colleagues<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Open Textbook Initiative<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 6, 2016, eCampusOntario released the first Call for Proposals to support the development of Open Educational Resources (OER) at Ontario colleges and universities. A total of 61 proposals were received and 24 projects were funded. With the generous support of the Ontario Government and the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, <strong>eCampusOntario is building on the success of this first funding program to incent the continued adaptation, adoption and creation of Open Textbooks for Ontario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development has provided funding to increase the presence and use of open textbooks in the following priority areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Textbooks for high-enrolment first and second-year courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Original French-language content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indigenous studies content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trades and technical skills content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Content supporting the settlement of immigrants and refugees<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded Open Textbook Initiative projects are intended to incent uptake of these resources across the province, encourage the adoption and adaptation of open textbooks by educators across Ontario institutions, and support early adopters at a grass-roots level. This Call for Proposals describes the process and criteria for selecting projects for funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ecampusontario.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=5d6265dfc77910e401607482d&amp;id=f7ef18960d&amp;e=aac1c7c68b\">Download the Open Textbook Initiative Call for Proposals<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Digital Inclusion Research<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a centre for excellence in online learning, eCampusOntario has a mandate to support leading edge Ontario research in the field.
