Professor Paul Litt<\/a>, cross-appointed in History and the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Conference of the University of Alberta\u2019s History and Classics Graduate Student Association (HCGSA). Scheduled for March 2 \u2013 4, 2017 at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, it will have the theme of \u201cCelebration and Commemoration\u201d in light of Canada\u2019s 150th birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be their eighth conference representing the interests of members and furthering the intellectual and social interests of graduate students in the disciplines of History and Classics. The conference has an international reach, bringing in presenters from across Canada, the United States, and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Litt was chosen as keynote speaker due to his research, particularly on the role of media in political history and public memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
