\n The Korean War & Reunification Symposium 2015\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

The Department of History, the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and the Korean Embassy will be hosting a symposium on the Korean War and Reunification on Friday, November 13. The symposium will take place from 10:00am to 2:30pm in room 2224 (2nd floor) of the River Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium’s two sessions will focus on the lessons of the Korean War for multilateral intervention and the impact of Korean reunification on regional security. Mr. Len Edwards, retired Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Ambassador to Korea will provide the luncheon address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2015 Korean War and Reunification Symposium is the second in an annual series started in 2014, scheduled close to Remembrance Day, and planned to run until the re-unification of Korea. Given Canada\u2019s heavy involvement in the Korean War (35,000 Canadians served and 516 made the ultimate sacrifice) the symposium reinforces our common past and continuing friendship, materially reinforced by the recent Free Trade Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
