Phillips is a professor in the Department of History and his recent book <em>On Historical Distance<\/em> was the winner of the prestigious&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cha-shc.ca\/english\/what-we-do\/cha-prizes\/the-wallace-k-ferguson-prize.html#sthash.xc4QMcoK.1zC0XGKi.dpbs\">Canadian Historical Association\u2019s Wallace K.
