The programme is now posted <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritage-conservation-symposium\/2024-2\/programme-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/h4>\n<h2>Call for Proposals<\/h2>\n<h4>Submission deadline: March 1, 2025<\/h4>\n<h3>ON THE EDGE OF COLLAPSE: CHANGING HERITAGE FOR A CLIMATE IN CRISIS<\/h3>\n<p>杏吧原创 University&#8217;s School of Canadian Studies &amp; Azrieli School of Architecture &amp; Urbanism present the <strong>17th Annual 杏吧原创 University Heritage Conservation Symposium<\/strong>, <em>On the Edge of Collapse: Changing Heritage for a Climate in Crisis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s organizing committee invites submissions that address the critical intersections of <strong>climate justice<\/strong> and <strong>heritage conservation<\/strong>. Submissions may address the following key topics, or explore other innovative intersections of climate justice and heritage conservation:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decolonizing Climate Action in Heritage<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indigenous land stewardship and cultural practices<\/li>\n<li>Resource sovereignty and environmental governance<\/li>\n<li>Decolonizing approaches to environmental repair and justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Justice in Heritage Conservation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Housing insecurity and adaptive reuse<\/li>\n<li>Climate migration and cultural memory in displaced communities<\/li>\n<li>Environmental racism and its impact on heritage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reimagining Heritage in a Changing World<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New narratives for cultural resilience<\/li>\n<li>Integrating climate science into heritage management<\/li>\n<li>Artistic and creative responses to heritage in crisis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Submissions are welcome from graduate students, community activists, professionals, and academics engaged in heritage conservation and related fields.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please submit a <strong>300-word abstract<\/strong> in English or French, accompanied by a title and a <strong>100-word biography<\/strong> to <a href=\"mail&#116;&#111;&#58;&#104;&#101;&#x72;&#x69;&#x74;&#x61;&#x67;&#x65;&#x63;onse&#114;&#118;&#97;&#116;&#105;&#x6f;&#x6e;&#x73;&#x79;&#x6d;&#x70;&#x6f;&#x73;ium&#64;&#99;&#117;&#110;&#101;&#116;&#x2e;&#x63;&#x61;&#x72;&#x6c;&#x65;&#x74;&#x6f;n&#46;ca\">&#104;&#x65;r&#x69;t&#97;&#x67;&#101;&#x63;o&#110;&#x73;&#101;&#x72;v&#x61;&#x74;&#105;&#x6f;n&#x73;y&#109;&#x70;&#111;&#x73;i&#117;&#x6d;&#64;&#x63;u&#110;&#x65;&#116;&#x2e;c&#x61;&#x72;&#108;&#x65;t&#x6f;n&#46;&#x63;&#97;<\/a> by <strong>March 1, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If applicable, include links to relevant supplementary media. Participants will be contacted by <strong>March 17, 2025<\/strong>, with feedback on submissions.
