Students complete core courses in advanced topics and seminars in interdisciplinary health sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The research thesis is undertaken throughout the program, and in conjunction, students participate in twice-yearly Graduate Advisory Committee meetings, give an annual research presentation, and give a final research seminar presentation. The final thesis defence includes completion and evaluation of the written thesis and an oral examination of the thesis (viva).<\/p>\n<p>We also offer a collaborative specialization in <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/datascience\/\">Data Science<\/a> for MSc candidates.<\/p>\n<h2>Master of Science: Health Sciences<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Required courses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>0.5 credit in HLTH 5903 Current Topics in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences<\/li>\n<li>0.5 credit in HLTH 5902 Seminars in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences for MSc\n<ul>\n<li>OR elective, approved by Thesis Supervisor and Graduate Advisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>0.0 credit in HLTH 5905 Final Research Seminar Presentation for MSc<\/li>\n<li>4.0 credits in HLTH 5909 Research thesis for MSc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Additional Course Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>In consultation with the supervisor and Graduate Advisor prior to acceptance, a MSc\u00a0student may be required to take additional courses.
