Are you ready to make a difference? The GO-ISSO is looking for dedicated student volunteers to help welcome and support Global Ravens at 杏吧原创 University! If you love connecting with people, supporting fellow students, and getting involved on campus, we encourage you to apply.

Volunteer Roles & Commitments
Summer 2025 Volunteer June 3 鈥 August 30, 2025
- Help with GO-ISSO initiatives during the summer months
- Time commitment: 3 hours or less per month (opportunities sent via email)
International Orientation Volunteer (Fall & Winter)
- Welcome new international students at orientation events
- Fall 2025: August 5 鈥 September 6th
- Winter 2026: January 5 鈥 31st
- Time commitment: As much as you can offer!
Academic Year Volunteer (September 鈥 April)
- Support GO-ISSO events and workshops throughout the year
- Time Commitment: 5 hours a month or less
International Student Ambassador (Ongoing)
- Assist International Admissions & Recruitment as needed
- Time Commitment: Start anytime, continue until April 11, 2026

Peer Support & Networking
- Global Caf茅 (multiple sessions) 鈥 A casual meet-up offering free coffee, snacks, and conversations with fellow students, fostering a sense of community.
- Tabling Events 鈥 Engaging with students at various GO-ISSO and campus-wide events to provide information, answer questions, and create connections.
- SIN Clinic with Service Canada 鈥 A dedicated clinic where students can apply for their Social Insurance Number (SIN) on campus, making the process more accessible.

- International Student Fall & Winter Orientation Day鈥 Activities designed to welcome new international students in the winter term, featuring social events, information sessions, and cultural celebrations.
- Snowshoeing in Gatineau Park 鈥 A guided snowshoeing adventure where students explore Canada鈥檚 winter landscapes and enjoy outdoor activities.
- Frost & Friends: GO-ISSO Skating Event! 鈥 A fun-filled ice skating event where students learn to skate and embrace Canada鈥檚 winter traditions.
- Winterlude: Celebration of Culture & Community 鈥 A visit to Ottawa鈥檚 famous Winterlude festival, where students experience ice sculptures, cultural exhibits, and winter fun.
- Vanier Sugar Shack (Cabane 脿 Sucre) Visit 鈥 A traditional French-Canadian experience where students enjoy maple taffy and learn about maple syrup production..
- Museum Visits 鈥 Organized trips to explore Ottawa鈥檚 rich history and culture at museums such as the Canadian Museum of History, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Canadian Museum of Nature.
Community Engagement & Special Events
- Campus to Community Day 鈥 In From the Cold (Partnered with the Student Experience Office) 鈥 A volunteer initiative supporting Ottawa鈥檚 homeless community, where students help prepare and serve meals.
- CAB Salsa Night (Partnered with Student Experience Office) 鈥 A lively evening of Latin music and dance, where students can learn salsa moves and enjoy an energetic social atmosphere.
- Galentine鈥檚 Day Celebration: Craft & Fun!(Partnered with the CUSA Women’s Centre) 鈥 A creative event celebrating friendships with crafts, games, and activities to bring students together.
- International Brunch (Partnered with CUSA) 鈥 A community-building event where International students connect over food and shared experiences.
- Dream Catcher Workshop (Partnered with CUSA Mawandoseg Centre) 鈥 A cultural workshop where students learn about Indigenous traditions and create their own dream catchers.
- Thriving in a New Culture: Strategies for Well-being and Success (Partnered with CUSA Wellness Centre) 鈥 A workshop designed to help students adjust to life in Canada, covering wellness strategies and cultural adaptation.
These events have been an amazing way for GO-ISSO volunteers to engage with the community, develop leadership skills, and create lasting memories.

Important Details
Training: Mandatory online training + in-person sessions as needed
Eligibility: Must be in good academic standing
Police Record Check: A clean Vulnerable Sector Check is required after being selected as a volunteer (approx. $20) Click the link to submit your PRC form.
