Overview
The design, construction and operation聽of civil infrastructure (e.g. transportation systems, building and hydrotechnical structures, pipeline systems) must assess the type, spatial variability聽and corresponding engineering characteristics of the local geotechnical聽conditions.聽The potential significance of聽geohazards on the resilience and integrity of the natural and built environment must be addressed in a sustainable approach.
The Geotechnical Engineering and Infrastructure Research Group leverages the expertise of a multidisciplinary team utilizing an integrated research framework that encompasses remote sensing, laboratory testing, physical modelling and numerical simulation tools.
