One award will be given each year when warranted.<\/p>\n\n\n                            <\/header>\n\n                    <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"criteria-for-award\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria for Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The award will be granted on the basis of some combination of leadership, innovation, or impact in the area of EDIR. Illustrative examples include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>organizing or leading initiatives that promote inclusive and anti-oppressive spaces on campus;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing resources or programs to support equity-deserving student groups;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>advocating for systemic changes that enhance accessibility and inclusion;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>creating partnerships with community organizations to advance EDIR goals;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mentoring peers from equity-deserving groups or fostering inclusive student networks;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>other meaningful contributions that demonstrate commitment to EDIR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"eligibility\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in FPGA programs. Individual or group applications are accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"application-package\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Package<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>cover letter outlining each applicant\u2019s contributions and impact on EDIR;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supporting evidence (short write up in the form of a word\/pdf\/ppt documentation of initiatives or programs\u2014event posters; screenshots; photos; testimonials and\/or evidence of impact);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>optional letter of support from a faculty member or staff familiar with the applicant\u2019s work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpga\/students\/student-edir-community-excellence-award-application-form\/\">Submit your application<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"award-recognition\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Award Recognition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The recipient(s) of the award will receive a $1000 taxable cash award (to be divided among recipients if the award is granted to a group) and a certificate of recognition. They will also be featured in a profile online and on social media to highlight their achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"procedures-and-selection-committee\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedures and Selection Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should use the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpga\/students\/student-edir-community-excellence-award-application-form\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"4095\">application submission form<\/a> to upload their materials. <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Completed application packages must be received by March 12th, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection committee for this Award is chaired by the Associate Dean (Equity &amp; Inclusive Communities) and makes its recommendations to the Dean. The award committee will normally consist of 3 to 4 members: 2-3 faculty members and one student representative (with a preference being a previous award winner if possible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"past-fpga-excellence-award-winners\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Past FPGA Excellence Award Winners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Past winners are eligible to re-apply 4 years after receipt of their last award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Criteria for Award The award will be granted on the basis of some combination of leadership, innovation, or impact in the area of EDIR.
