One award will be given each year when warranted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-horizontal is-content-justification-left is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-7e5fce0a wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-25 is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpga\/about\/excellence-awards\/\">FPGA Excellence Awards<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n                            <\/header>\n\n                    <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"criteria-for-award\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria for Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The award will be granted on the basis of candidates\u2019 demonstrated contributions to building and enhancing institutional relationships between FPGA\/杏吧原创 and local, provincial, national and\/or international community organizations. These contributions are expected to be sustained (i.e., ongoing and\/or long-standing) and demonstrate a significant contribution to and impact on the community. Examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>impactful collaborations with government, non-governmental, or private-sector organizations, such as establishing community programs, applied joint research projects, or on-going events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>leadership and active, ongoing involvement on government or community-based advisory bodies (the expectation is that the relationship with the organization is formalized and institutional, rather than individual\/personal);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing programs to enhance student engagement with the community, such as by facilitating co-op, internship, volunteer, and\/or community-based research opportunities, and that impact both the student experience and the work of community organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"eligibility\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The award is open to all FPGA full-time faculty members at any rank. Collaborative teams are also eligible to apply with the understanding that at least half of the collaborators are full-time FPGA faculty members. Given the award criteria, the applicant (or 杏吧原创 members of a team) would be expected to have been at 杏吧原创 for at least 3-5 years. Candidates must apply directly. Anyone who considers a colleague to be worthy of the award should encourage them to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"applications\">Application Package<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A complete application must include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed web application form;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant\u2019s CV (or CV of each collaborator if applying as a team);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant statement describing the nature and impact of the applicant\u2019s (or team\u2019s) contribution to community engagement;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least one statement of support from the applicant\u2019s Chair\/Director or academic colleague;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least one statement of support from community partner(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-25\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpga\/fpga-community-engagement-excellence-award-application-form\/\">Apply Now<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"award-recognition\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Award Recognition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The award winner will receive a $1,000 taxable cash award, and a framed certificate. They will also be featured in a Faculty profile online and on social media to highlight their achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"procedures-and-selection-committee\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedures and Selection Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should use the application submission form on the ODFPGA website to upload their materials. Completed application packages must be received by <strong>Wednesday, March 18, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection committee is chaired by the Associate Dean (Faculty Affairs). The award committee will normally consist of 3-4 FPGA faculty members selected by the Associate Dean. The committee shall make its recommendation to the Dean.
