In your email please include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The name of the payee<\/li>\n<li>Cheque amount<\/li>\n<li>Currency<\/li>\n<li>Type of payment (e.g. Cheque or Draft)<\/li>\n<li>Requisition number (e.g. CR12345, TX12345)<\/li>\n<li>Approximate date the original requisition was sent to Accounts Payable<\/li>\n<li>Any changes to the mailing address (if required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please allow at least two weeks from the cheque date (date shown in FAST) prior to requesting a stop payment.<\/p>\n<p>A cheque can be stopped, cancelled and reissued in 5-10 business days.<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-what-should-i-do-with-a-stale-dated-cheque\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-what-should-i-do-with-a-stale-dated-cheque\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">What should I do with a Stale Dated Cheque?<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-what-should-i-do-with-a-stale-dated-cheque\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p>A cheque may become stale dated (and not accepted by any bank) if it has not been cashed in six months following the date of issue.\u00a0Cheques that are stale dated should be returned to the <a href=\"&#x6d;&#x61;&#x69;&#x6c;&#x74;&#111;&#58;&#74;&#97;mes&#x4d;&#x61;&#x74;&#x63;&#x68;&#x65;&#116;&#116;&#64;Cun&#x65;&#x74;&#x2e;&#x43;&#x61;&#x72;&#108;&#101;&#116;&#111;n&#46;C&#x61;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Accounts Payable Supervisor<\/a> for reissue.<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-what-should-i-do-with-a-damaged-cheque\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-what-should-i-do-with-a-damaged-cheque\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">What should I do with a damaged cheque?<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-what-should-i-do-with-a-damaged-cheque\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p>If a cheque has been damaged and cannot be cashed, please forward to the <a href=\"m&#97;&#105;&#108;&#x74;&#x6f;&#x3a;Ja&#109;&#101;&#x73;&#x4d;&#x61;&#x74;ch&#101;&#116;&#x74;&#x40;&#x43;&#x75;n&#101;&#116;&#46;&#x43;&#x61;&#x72;le&#116;&#111;&#110;&#x2e;&#x43;&#x61;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Accounts Payable Supervisor<\/a> for reissue.<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-what-should-i-do-if-i-need-to-cancel-a-draft\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-what-should-i-do-if-i-need-to-cancel-a-draft\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">What should I do if I need to cancel a draft?<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-what-should-i-do-if-i-need-to-cancel-a-draft\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p>A draft can be cancelled, but requires the payee to complete forms for the banks as a security measure in case the original draft is found. The bank is unable to stop an original draft as it is deemed &#8220;cash&#8221;.
