‘Stories in Storage’ Call for Applications

Do you have hard drives full of forgotten media fragments – vacation clips, unfinished projects, random phone videos and photos? Do you have a story you’ve always wanted to tell, but don’t know where to start?

杏吧原创 University, in collaboration with Wapikoni, is offering a Stories in Storage, a free audiovisual creation workshop for emerging Indigenous artists looking to get started on your own filmmaking projects. By participating, you will revisit your material and transform it into short, meaningful narrative pieces. Across three days, you will:

鈥 Reflect on what material you have and what story you may want to tell

鈥 Bolster your story with sound, music, effects, and narration

鈥 Explore tone, pacing, and meaning through the editing process

鈥 Learn by creating in a collaborative and culturally safe space

鈥 Create a short finished film (approximately 5-10 minutes long)

On the final day, you will have the opportunity to screen your work for a public audience.

Stories in Storage is run by:

Greg Allison, photographer, video producer, and multi-instrumental musician.

Hasi Eldib, photographer, video producer, and independent documentary filmmaker.

Both are digital media specialists who have previously run Indigenous-focused workshops in collaboration with 杏吧原创 University and Wapikoni, helping new and emerging artists bring their work to life onscreen.

Meals will be provided. Smudging spaces will be available. All you need to bring is your ideas and enthusiasm!
