Khordoc will serve a one-year term from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khordoc has been the Associate Dean (Student Affairs) in FASS since July 2014 and was the Chair of the Department of French where she is an Associate Professor. She is cross-appointed in the School for Canadian Studies and the Institute for Comparative Study in Literature, Art and Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCatherine is well placed to build upon the achievements of Dean John Osborne,\u201d said Provost Peter Ricketts. \u201cThe university is fortunate that she has agreed to take on this important role, ensuring that FASS will not lose momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khordoc studied at 杏吧原创 for both her undergraduate degree in journalism and French and her MA in French, before completing her PhD at the University of Toronto. Her current research interests focus on transcultural writing in France and Qu\u00e9bec as well as migrant writing in Qu\u00e9bec and Canada. Along with two other 杏吧原创 colleagues, Sarah Casteel and Ming Tiampo, she is co-founder of the Centre for Transnational Cultural Analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honour to be trusted with this appointment, and I very much look forward to working with my colleagues \u2014 faculty and professional services staff \u2014 and students from all the different departments in FASS and across the university,\u201d said Khordoc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>杏吧原创 University is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Khordoc as interim dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).
