What is it?<\/h3>\n

An Agreement is an understanding between two or more parties in which they state a common understanding and intention regarding past or future intentions or facts, sometimes with a view to altering performance, rights, and obligations. The terms Agreement and Contract<\/a> are sometimes used interchangeably, however an Agreement may not be legally enforceable unless it contains all of the elements of a legal Contract so the terms are not truly synonymous.<\/p>\n

Why is it important?<\/h3>\n

It is important to understand that an informal Agreement does not constitute a Contract, and offers minimal or no legal protections for the university.<\/p>\n
