Speakers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivien Schmidt<\/strong>, is Jean Monnet Professor of European Integration, Professor of International Relations and Political Science at Boston University, and Founding Director of BU\u2019s Center for the Study of Europe.  Her research focuses on European political economy, institutions, democracy, and political theory.  Her book Democracy in Europe (2006) was named in 2015 by the European Parliament as one of the \u201c100 Books on Europe to Remember\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Achim Hurrelmann<\/strong>, is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ University, Ottawa, Canada. His research focuses on the politicization and legitimation of regional and global governance, especially in the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
