\n EU Migration Policy in the Neighborhood: New Frontiers?\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Please join us on Tuesday November 10, 2015  <\/strong>for our upcoming event on \u201cEU Migration Policy in the Neighbourhood: New Frontiers?<\/em>\u201d The event will take place from 2:30-4:00pm<\/strong> in the  MacOdrum Library<\/strong>  (Room 482, 4th <\/sup>floor in the Discovery Centre).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Neighbourhood Policy was overhauled in 2012 following a series of dramatic events developing in the EU\u2019s neighbourhood. One of the policy areas most influenced by the changing global context was migration policy. But has EU migration policy in the neighbourhood really changed? If so, what type of change can we talk about? In this talk Dr<\/b>.<\/b>Agnieszka<\/b> Weinar<\/b> will present evidence and arguments explaining the nuances of change\/continuity in the EU\u2019s migration policy towards its neighbours. She will discuss historical perspectives and recent developments on core migration policy tools such as visa policy, re-admission policy, and mobility partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. <\/b>Agnieszka<\/b> Weinar<\/b> is a Marie Curie Fellow hosted by EURUS and the Metropolis Project; she joins us from the European University Institute in Florence. Her research focuses on the international dimension of migration policy and more specifically on the Europeanization of migration policies in the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
