\n Event Commentary Online: Ambassador Westdal on Canada-Russia Relations\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

On September 24, 2015, guest lecturer of EURUS and CGPM Canadian Ambassador Chris Westdal<\/strong>, spoke to a full house and shared his impressions of Canadian-Russian relations and Harper’s foreign policy.  By popular request and for those who were not able to attend, the Ambassador has kindly made his presentation available for further reading here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaker biography: Chris Westdal<\/strong> was Canadian Ambassador to Russia 2003-06; the UN in Geneva and the Conference on Disarmament 1999-2003; Ukraine 1996-98; South Africa 1991-93; and Bangladesh and Burma 1982-85. He earlier worked for CIDA in Tanzania, India and Nepal. In Ottawa, he worked at CIDA, DFAIT and the PCO. He studied political science at St John\u2019s College (BA 1970) and public administration at the University of Manitoba (MBA 1970). Now a consultant and occasional commentator on international affairs, he has served on corporate boards with interests in Russia and Ukraine and is a director of Silver Bear Resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
