Over the course of the two-day conference, the EURUS students had the opportunity to look on as academics from across North America and Europe presented their current projects. Professor Jeff Sahadeo&nbsp;presented his finished article \u201cSoviet \u2018Blacks\u2019 and Place-Making in Leningrad and Moscow.\u201d&nbsp; Other participants included: Peter Blitstein (Lawrence University); Kate Brown (University of Maryland, Baltimore County), Diana Dumitru (University of Toronto); Adrienne Edgar (University of California, Santa Barbara); William Risch (Georgia College); Zbigniew Wojnowski (University of St. Andrews); Serhy Yekelchyk (University of Victoria); Sergei Zhuk (Ball State University); as well as PhD candidates David Beecher, Svetlana Frunchak, Krista Goff, and Elena Jakel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Jeff Sahadeo and a group of EURUS MA students travelled to the University of &nbsp;Toronto April 16-18, 2012, to take part in a symposium on Soviet nationalities post-1945 at the Munk Centre for International Studies.
