Ellen McCole graduated from StFX University in 2020 with a BSc in Mathematics and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Ellen is pursuing a MASc through 杏吧原创鈥檚 Sustainable Energy Engineering program, where she enjoys courses from both 杏吧原创鈥檚 school of engineering as well as public policy & administration. For her master鈥檚 thesis, Ellen is completing a techno-economic analysis of commercially available methane mitigation technologies for use in Saskatchewan鈥檚 oil and gas sector. This work is based on EERL鈥檚 recently published source-attributed methane emissions inventory and aims to provide insight to how much it costs producers to reduce their methane emissions, and how current methane reduction regulations can be updated to reduce methane emissions from sites in the province in a cost-effective manner.
