Here is a quote from the article:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Vivek Dehejia, an economics professor at ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ University, said he was \u201csurprised and disappointed\u201d to see the findings of the PBO\u2019s latest report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c(Spending) has been steadily going up and, in my opinion, it\u2019s part of a larger pattern of very large and excessive fiscal spending by the government,\u201d Dehejia said. \u201cIt seems strange that while they\u2019re spending more on their full-time, professional staff they\u2019re also contracting out a lot more. It really does seem a bit puzzling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dehejia said the high rates of spending are concerning given the current economic environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And while the projections could have even higher in the absence of the cuts they say they\u2019re making, Dehejia said, \u201cin absolute terms, it\u2019s a very large amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFiscal policy is still very inflationary,\u201d he added.&nbsp;\u201cThe bank is trying to reduce inflation by raising interest rates, causing pain for average Canadians.&nbsp;With a higher fiscal deficit, the bank has to work even harder and may have to raise rates again, even more than they would have had to if the fiscal deficit were under control.
