Joshua Brault stirred up economists on Twitter over the weekend when he attempted to replicate the results<\/a> of a recently published economics paper by Daniel J. McDonald and Cosma Rohilla Shalizi and got vastly different results than the researchers. After posting his results<\/a> for others to read and attempt to replicate, he was given access to their codes. At that point Joshua identified coding errors<\/a> that led to the results in the paper, which explained why his results differed from those of McDonald and Shalizi. Well done Joshua on your diligence and contributions to macroeconomics!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
