After you sign your letter of offer, various offices will be reaching out to welcome you and offer their support. If you are new to Ottawa, we can also help with relocation and, for those new to Canada, we also provide immigration support. Ongoing onboarding activities typically take place throughout your first year of employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This section provides information and resources on 杏吧原创&#8217;s Onboarding program for new Academic staff (including Faculty and Librarians). The overall goal of 杏吧原创\u2019s Onboarding program is to align new employees with the University&#8217;s culture, aspiration statements, and values. It is our hope that this resource facilitates a thorough, coordinated, and cohesive onboarding experience for all new academic staff at 杏吧原创. It is simply one piece of the onboarding process.<\/p>\n\n\n        <\/dd>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n    <div class=\"grid gap-2 pt-4 pb-3 border-b border-cu-black-100 md:pt-6 md:pb-5 last:border-none first:pt-0 first:md:pt-0 md:grid-cols-left-260 md:gap-6\">\n        <dt class=\"font-semibold not-prose\">\n            Onboarding\n        <\/dt>\n        <dd class=\"p-0 mt-0 cu-prose cu-prose-first-last md:p-0 md:mt-0\">\n            \n\n<p>Onboarding is a comprehensive process composed of a series of activities (including orientation) aimed towards integrating the new employee with the University and its culture, as well as getting a new hire the tools and information needed to become a productive member of the team. The full Onboarding process can last anywhere from 3 to 12 months after an employee starts, depending on the responsibilities of the position and the amount of organizational understanding necessary to be successful in the role.<\/p>\n\n\n        <\/dd>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n    <div class=\"grid gap-2 pt-4 pb-3 border-b border-cu-black-100 md:pt-6 md:pb-5 last:border-none first:pt-0 first:md:pt-0 md:grid-cols-left-260 md:gap-6\">\n        <dt class=\"font-semibold not-prose\">\n            Onboarding Activities\n        <\/dt>\n        <dd class=\"p-0 mt-0 cu-prose cu-prose-first-last md:p-0 md:mt-0\">\n            \n\n<p>Some of these Onboarding activities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preparing the new hire\u2019s workspace and setting up all necessary accounts and systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing an overview of the University and its culture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Filling out the necessary paperwork\/documentation for the new hire to be set up in 杏吧原创\u2019s HR and payroll systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reviewing important policies, processes, and procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explaining the role of the new hire\u2019s department and division within 杏吧原创<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring that the new hire knows where to go for specific support and resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing necessary training for the new hire so they can perform their job effectively<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Defining job responsibilities and performance objectives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a positive new hire experience for a new member to 杏吧原创<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At 杏吧原创, the Onboarding process is a shared responsibility between various Onboarding partners across numerous different teams and departments.
