\n Page Titles vs. Page Banners: What\u2019s the Difference and Best Practices\n <\/h1>\n \n \n \n\n

We\u2019ve recently made an update: page titles <\/em><\/strong>are no longer automatically connected to page banners.<\/em><\/strong> Up until now, the page title and banner title were always the same by default.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

This change provides you with more flexibility in terms of how your content appears and its performance in search engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Page Title<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • The page title<\/strong> is the main title of your page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • It appears in your browser tab, search engine results (like Google), and may also be used by screen readers for accessibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • From an SEO perspective, the page title is critical<\/strong>\u2014it helps search engines understand what your page is about, and it\u2019s often the first thing people see when deciding whether to click through to your site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Page Banner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    • The page banner<\/strong> is the large, visual header that displays at the top of your page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • It\u2019s meant for design, branding, and creating a strong first impression for visitors once they land on your page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Unlike the page title, it doesn\u2019t directly affect SEO, but it plays a big role in user experience.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Why We Separated Them<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      In the past, the page title and the banner title were always the same by default. This could limit flexibility\u2014for example, you might want a shorter, keyword-rich page title for SEO, but a more descriptive or welcoming banner title for readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      By separating them, you now get the best of both worlds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Add the page title at the very top of the web page next to “SEO Title.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
