The Tools for Community-First Community Campus Partnerships Working Group (Tools WG) is delighted to introduce two new members: Zoey Feder and Mike Bulthuis.<\/p>\n

\"PortraitZoey Feder is the Administrative Assistant for the Centre for Studies on Poverty and Social Citizenship<\/a> (CSPSC). Zoey is a recent graduate from 杏吧原创\u2019s BSW program. Before joining CSPSC, she was involved with anti-poverty organizations like Canada Without Poverty (CWP) and ACORN Canada. As the Admin Assistant for CSPSC, she will be assisting our Tools\u00a0WG with administrative support.<\/p>\n

\"MikeMike Bulthuis is a social geographer and the Executive Director of the Alliance to End Homelessness<\/a>. The ATEH strives to involve representatives from the diverse organizations concerned about homelessness and to have those who have personal experience of homelessness included as members. Mike is replacing Kate Garvie as our second Community Co-Lead.<\/p>\n

Our working group is\u00a0also happy to share that we will be working with the Centre for Studies on Poverty and Social Citizenship during this second phase of the CFICE project.<\/p>\n

\"LogoHoused at 杏吧原创 University\u2019s School of Social Work, The Centre for Studies on Poverty and Social Citizenship<\/em><\/a> (CSPSC) conducts and supports high quality research and knowledge mobilization on policy and practice related to issues of poverty and social citizenship. The overall goal of the Centre is to generate critical and innovative knowledge that can be used to inform both social work policy and practice in schools of social work and in our communities. In pursuing meaningful research that can address inequality, creating strong partnerships with community-based organizations and supporting grassroots activity has become increasingly central to the Centre\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

CSPSC will be hiring a\u00a0Research Assistant to support the work of the Tools WG. We have received applications from several strong candidates and expect to complete the hiring process by next week.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Tools WG is getting excited for C2UExpo 2017<\/a> and has already submitted the following\u00a0abstract to present at the conference. This presentation will be based on some of the work our WG will be focused on over the next few months:<\/p>\n

Community Based Organizations seeking research assistance from universities are not always able to propose their projects in a way that enable academics to carry out the research. This paper will provide the evaluation results of an easy-to-use tool to assist them in describing their requests with researchable goals and objectives.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
