The Chronicle of Higher Education put out a very interesting article<\/a> this weekend\u00a0outlining the University of California’s successes in sharing their researchers’ discoveries with the public. This is a problem faced by\u00a0universities, colleges, and research projects, but can also apply to community organizations dealing with less tangible concepts and\u00a0work. The article provides some good tips to thinking about your knowledge mobilization work. Here’s a snippet:<\/p>\n

“The University of California Research feed, on the social-media platform Tumblr, began as an experiment. Zak Long and Jessica Wheelock, senior multimedia producers,…were looking for ways to share content, and Tumblr boasted “a big science, research, and discovery community that was really engaged,” Ms. Wheelock says…Using an institutional voice can ‘make amazing content incredibly boring.’ GIFs and other vivid visuals define UC Research posts because they grab attention and encourage sharing.“<\/span><\/p>\n
