The TMW provides a platform through which researchers, within the space of no more than 10 minutes, may disseminate encapsulated summaries of their research findings or conceptual contributions. Content may range from findings associated with a specific \u00a0study or a research program more broadly defined. Submissions are welcome from researchers working in education and the social and health sciences whose contributions align well with CRECS\u2019 mission:<\/div>\n<div><i>The Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services (CRECS) collaborates in research, evaluation, and training \u00a0with organizations in the educational, social service, and health sectors to improve social programs and policies for citizens, especially those facing social exclusion.<\/i><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Through the TMW\u00a0CRECS intends to accelerate the dissemination of cutting edge research on educational and community interventions, and innovations in research and evaluation methodologies and to make such contributions widely accessible to research, educational, professional and lay communities.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Issues in the series are produced\u00a0by CRECS\u00a0and will be published\u00a0in the CRECS video library (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crecs.uottawa.ca\/\">www.crecs.uottawa.ca<\/a>\u00a0see knowledge Mobilization &gt; Video Library) and made broadly available through the CRECS\u00a0YouTube Channel. The video segments will be produced in either French or English with closed captioning available in both official languages.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Volume 1 (2013) of the series consists of six episodes on research topics ranging from participatory evaluation to children in care to Photovoice to homelessness. The number of episodes per volume will vary; several are in the works for Volume 2 (2014).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Check out this years\u2019 editions, and many more to come in the new year.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Volume 1 Number 1<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>Participatory evaluation essentials<\/b>\u00a0Dr. Brad Cousins discusses some basic principles of participatory evaluation and introduces a conceptual framework useful for differentiating between practical and transformative approaches and among other forms of \u00a0collaborative inquiry in evaluation.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Volume 1 Number 2<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>Effectiveness of tutoring for young people in out-of-home care<\/b>\u00a0Dr. Robert Flynn describes a randomized effectiveness trial of direct-instruction tutoring in collaboration with nine local Children\u2019s Aid Societies in Ontario.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><b>Volume 1 Number 3<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>The School Dropout Process: What\u2019s Depression Got to do With it?<\/b>\u00a0Dr. Cintia\u00a0Quiroga\u00a0discusses the process of dropping out of school and presents different ideas about how depression symptoms among adolescents can influence or contribute to the this multifactorial phenomenon.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Volume 1 Number 4<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>In her own eyes: Photovoice of single mothers on their way to success<\/b>\u00a0Dr. Julie Gosselin summarizes a Photovoice\u00a0project carried out with a group of single mothers living in an underprivileged\u00a0sector of the Outaouais region.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Volume 1 Number 5<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>Findings from the At Home \/ Chez Soi Demonstration Project<\/b>\u00a0Dr. Tim Aubry presents the findings on the At Home \/ Chez Soi, a demonstration project that involved a clinical trial of Housing First in five Canadian cities, Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Volume 1 Number 6<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>Student Teacher, Teacher and University Professor Stress and<\/b>\u00a0Coping Dr. Cameron Montgomery presents outputs from his research on student teacher and teacher stress and coping, starting with the development and validation of an overarching conceptual framework.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Thank you for your continued support.
