It is a cyclical process in which actions are reflected on, refined and new actions are taken based on what was learned.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/dd>\n\n\t<\/dl>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"list__alpha-title list__alpha-title--slideme\"><div class=\"slideme\">\n\t<dl class=\"slideme__list\">\n\n\t\t<dt class=\"slideme__term\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#slideme-anchor-institutions\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-anchor-institutions\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Anchor institutions<\/a>\n\t\t<\/dt>\n\n\t\t<dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-anchor-institutions\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"Body\">Anchor institutions are non-profit organizations such as hospitals, universities and colleges that are rooted in the community and play a role in making strategic contributions to their local economies. As recipients of government funding, they tend to have a great amount of knowledge and monetary capital to offer the community. These institutions generally work with their communities through partnerships to help them develop and address complex socio-economic challenges.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/dd>\n\n\t<\/dl>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"list__alpha-title list__alpha-title--slideme\"><h3 class=\"list__alpha-letter u-hide-in-toc\">B<\/h3><div class=\"slideme\">\n\t<dl class=\"slideme__list\">\n\n\t\t<dt class=\"slideme__term\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#slideme-boundary-spanners\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-boundary-spanners\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Boundary spanners<\/a>\n\t\t<\/dt>\n\n\t\t<dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-boundary-spanners\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t<p>Boundary spanners are people who\u00a0bring together academics, community members, and organizations to work towards a common goal. Not to be confused with a broker, a boundary spanner is heavily invested in both sides of the collaboration and is often directly involved in the project as opposed to acting as an intermediary.<\/p>\n<p>This type of role is important because it facilitates collaboration.
