Talloires Network member institutions and partner organizations are encouraged to consider applying to host the next TN global conference. If you are interested, please submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to host the 2017 Talloires Network Leaders Conference (TNLC 2017), either individually or in collaboration with other institutions.

The TN aim to build on the strong local leadership and partnerships that made the 2011 conference in Madrid and the 2014 conference in Cape Town such successes. They envision that TNLC 2017 will be planned and organized by the TN Secretariat in conjunction with a Local Organizing Committee (LOC) comprised of representatives of the host university/universities and any other co-hosting institutions or partners. They also seek strong support from the head(s) of the hosting institution(s).

To learn more about the responsibilities of the hosting institution(s), the criteria for selection or to submit an Expression of Interest, please visit the Talloires Network website:

Expressions of Interest are due by July 10, 2015. Once received, they will be reviewed by the TN Secretariat who will then present a short list of options to the Steering Committee. With input from the Steering Committee, a list of finalists will be chosen and site visits to those finalists may be conducted between October and December, 2015. A final decision about the date and location of TNLC 2017 will be made by the Steering Committee in January, 2016.

The TNLC 2017 is a wonderful opportunity to advance the global movement of social responsibility in higher education and to develop strong working relationships with our partners throughout the world. The TNLC look forward to receiving your Expressions of Interest!

Talloires Network Announces Call for Nominations from Exceptional University Community Engagement Programs /communityfirst/2013/talloires-network-announces-call-for-nominations-from-exceptional-university-community-engagement-programs/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=talloires-network-announces-call-for-nominations-from-exceptional-university-community-engagement-programs Mon, 04 Nov 2013 14:51:28 +0000 http://cfice.wordpress.com/?p=241 The Talloires Network Announces Call for Nominations from Exceptional University Community Engagement Programs

The Talloires Network has announced a call for nominations for the sixth annual MacJannet Prize. The Prize recognizes exceptional civic engagement initiatives based at Talloires Network member universities around the world and contributes financially to their ongoing public service efforts.

The Talloires Network, comprising over 300 universities from 71 countries around the world, was established in 2005 to focus on the obligation institutions of higher education have to actively engage with their communities. The Talloires Declaration, signed by the leaders of all member institutions, states that the university “should use the processes of education and research to respond to, serve and strengthen its communities for local and global citizenship.”

The MacJannet Prize was instituted to further the Talloires Network’s mission of strengthening the civic roles and social responsibilities of higher education. The first five years of the MacJannet Prize were a tremendous success. With about 70 nominations from dozens of universities around the world each year, the MacJannet Prize Selection Committee has been able to select a diverse group of innovative and effective winning programs.

Three prizes will be awarded in 2014: 1st Prize ($7,500), 2nd Prize ($5,000), and 3rd Prize ($2,500). Prize money will be used to further the goals and strengthen the impact of the awarded programs. Winning programs will be profiled on the Talloires Network website and highlighted in communications reaching thousands of higher education contacts worldwide. Winners will also have the opportunity to take part in a presentation ceremony at the 2014 Talloires Network Leaders Conference.

To be considered, programs must be nominated by 24 January 2014. Nominations will be accepted from students, faculty, staff, or administrators at member institutions. Only programs originating from member institutions of the Talloires Network are eligible for the Prize. Leaders of higher education institutions around the world that are not already Talloires Network members are invited and encouraged to join the Talloires Network. There is no fee for membership.

Nominations in English are preferred, but the Secretariat will do its best to accommodate nominations submitted in other languages. Please contact the Talloires Network Secretariat at talloiresnetwork@tufts.edu for information about submitting a nomination in a language other than English.
