CSSE’s 47th Annual Conference will be held from June 2 to June 5 at the University of BC (Vancouver campus). Members of CSSE are invited to submit documents related to their presentation by 1 October 2018 (23h59 Eastern). Proposals received afterĀ this date will not be considered.

This conference is being planned in close collaboration with the Canadian Association for the Study of Adult Education (CASAE) and the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE) so that individuals attending one of these conferences will also have the opportunity to attend sessions at the other gatherings.

Types of Presentations
CSSE encourages bilingual presentations when possible (speaking in one language with slides in the other language; co-presenters each speaking one language;
or a bilingual facilitator helping translate the q & a session). CSSE also encourages the use of participative sessions.Ā 

Submitting a Proposal
Please submit your proposal through CSSE’s online portal, Open Conference System.

The theme for the 2018 Canadian Knowledge Mobilization Forum is:Ā Mobilizing Evidence for Human Rights and the Social Development Goals

Knowledge Mobilization is often described as making the best of what we know, whether from research, assessed practice, or traditional knowledge, ready for others to use so that new value can be created.

The framework created by theĀ , theĀ , theĀ ,Ģż, and other social justice declarations are a deeply useful structure to help move knowledge into action.

The theme for 2018 focuses on how to be better together.Ā  The Institute invites participation that will push thinking and engagement of the knowledge mobilization community further. Presenters can present and connect with any other subject matter areas covered by the discussion on human rights and social development goals.Ā  It is recommended that presenters share how their work, for example, in healthcare links to sustainable communities, or economic growth links to clean water, helps end poverty, creates equality etc.
