For instructions on submitting request forms via&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mysuccess.carleton.ca\/login\/studentLogin.htm\">mySuccess<\/a>, click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/co-op\/forms\/how-to-access-co-op-forms-on-mysuccess\/\">here&nbsp;<\/a>to view a video walkthrough click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.carleton.ca\/media\/How+to+Get+a+Self-Directed+Job+Position+Approved\/1_5ry5hx96\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a reminder, for a position to count as a co-op work term, it must be:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Related to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/employability-framework\/areas-of-focus\/career-competencies\/\">ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´\u2019s Career Competencies<\/a>&nbsp;and your degree&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paid, see notes below&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervised,&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full-time hours (35-40 hours per week), and&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approximately 16-weeks (4-months) in duration per term.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note: Co-operative Education will not accept the following types of employment:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Independent contracting arrangements (self-employment)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unpaid work including work involving unpaid or reduced pay for training&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work involving credit in lieu of pay&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any work which requires the purchase of a service or product, or requires a certified deposit or similar as a condition of employment&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employment contracts or franchise contracts which charge a fee (i.e. certification fee, licensing fee, equipment purchase, initial investment in a company)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work involving pyramid-type or multi-level marketing organizations&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Private tutoring arrangements&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employment that would involve the work to take place at the private residence of the employer (i.e. caregiver, tutor, landscaping, care attendant)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employment where the student reports directly to a family member<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that if this position is approved as a co-op job, the position is subject to all the rules and regulations outlined in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/co-op\/rules-regulations\/co-op-participation-agreement\/\">Co-op Participation Agreement<\/a>.
