It functions as a &#8220;Welcome Desk&#8221;, and should provide helpful information for all visitors. In this module, we will introduce you to the Homepage.<\/p>\n<p>This video will walk you through the main components of the Homepage.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing your visitors will notice when landing on your site is the homepage banner. Here on the Web Services website, we see a banner image of a person using a computer, and a clear, distinct website name. This welcomes visitors to the website, as well as providing a visual reinforcement for what the site is about.<\/p>\n<p>Another feature you can see on the homepage here are the banner buttons. This is optional, and you can have up to 2 buttons on your banner. Banner buttons are great for directing users to a certain content as soon as they reach your site.<\/p>\n<p>As we scroll down, we see more content that helps users understand and navigate your site. One of the first things you should have on your Homepage is some introductory information. This gives the visitor an idea of what they\u2019ll be able to find on your website. Using the name of your site or relevant keywords in the headings or paragraphs on your homepage will help improve Search Engine Optimization, making it easier for people to locate your site.<\/p>\n<p>CMS also allows you to highlight important content on your homepage by listing quick links, news, videos and so on. By doing this, you direct your visitors\u2019 attention to and get them to engage with specific information.<\/p>\n<p>In general, you want your homepage to greet website visitors, and point them in the direction they need to go, whether that be for program information, research articles, contact information, or anything else.
