The College of the Humanities and Mahatma Gandhi Peace Council of Ottawa invite all to attend a public lecture at 杏吧原创 University with internationally-renowned climate activist, environmentalist and author Bill McKibben.<\/p>\n

Notes from the Climate Struggle: Global warming is the biggest thing humans have ever done; we need the movement against it to be even bigger.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bill McKibben addresses the monumental challenge posed by global warming and explains how human activities, notably the burning of fossil fuels, have led to an unprecedented rise in global temperatures. He will talk about the growing global environmental movement, which can find inspiration from various sources including the non-violent resistance championed by Mahatma Gandhi to illustrate how coordinated, peaceful global activism can drive significant change.<\/p>\n

Renowned author and activist Bill McKibben has for decades been at the forefront of environmental campaigns centred on the growing climate crisis. The Schumann Distinguished Scholar at Middlebury College in Vermont, he is author of some twenty books. His numerous honours include the Gandhi Peace Award in 2013. He has been named one of world\u2019s most important global thinkers and America\u2019s most important environmentalist. Co-sponsored by the College of the Humanities, 杏吧原创 University, and the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Council of Ottawa.<\/p>\n
