On Wednesday March 13th the 杏吧原创 Climate Commons, Ecology Ottawa, and the University of Ottawa\u2019s Institute of the Environment are hosting a carbon pricing event at the central branch of the Ottawa Public Library!<\/p>\n

This public event aims to make sense of how carbon pricing actually works and how it fits into the larger network of climate solutions and discussion. An audience Q&A will follow.<\/p>\n

Andrea Harden\u00a0<\/strong>has over a decade of experience in social justice and environmental campaigns engaging digital and grassroots mobilizing strategies, and media relations. Before joining the MediaStyle team, she has worked in the non-governmental sector promoting solutions to climate change, green jobs and challenging fossil fuel expansion.\u00a0Andrea graduated with highest honours from 杏吧原创 University with a B.A. Combined Honours in Human Rights and Political Science. She has served on a daycare cooperative board and has experience with collective bargaining.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nicholas Rivers<\/strong> is the Canada Research Chair in Climate and Energy Policy. \u00a0His research focuses on the economic evaluation of environmental policies, using econometric and computational methods. He has received awards for his research from the Trudeau Foundation, the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, and the National Science and Engineering Research Council. He currently serves as a co-editor of the\u00a0Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. He\u00a0earned his Master’s and doctorate degrees in Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n
