Professor听Adeline听Johns-Putra (Queen’s University) will be presenting her ongoing research with a lecture entitled “Apocalypse Now and Then, Here and There: Comparative Cultural Histories of Climate.”
Johns-Putra is an internationally renowned literary scholar, with a particular interest in the relationship between literature and climate. She is author of several academic monographs, including听Climate Change and the Contemporary Novel听(Cambridge University Press, 2019) and听The History of the Epic听(Palgrave, 2006), as well as numerous edited collections, including the听Cambridge Companion to Literature and Climate听(2022),听Climate and Literature听(2019),听Cli-Fi: A Companion听(2018),听Literature and Sustainability听(2017), and听Process: Landscape and Text听(2010). She is former president of the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment UKI (2011-2015), Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts UK, and Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong.听
Students, staff, and interested parties from all departments are welcome to attend.听
