Government of India, New Delhi and India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnership to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability (IC-IMPACTS) conduct the India-Canada Cooperative Science Programme to promote bilateral scientific collaboration between Indian and Canadian scientists.<\/p>\n<p>Joint applications are invited from eligible Indian and Canadian researchers \/scientists to submit proposals for joint projects.<\/p>\n<h3>Opportunity<\/h3>\n<p>The joint call for proposals will support collaborative research projects in the following scientific areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Structural performance of buildings including earthquake resistance<\/li>\n<li>Innovative buildings materials with low carbon footprint<\/li>\n<li>Thermal, acoustical and lighting comfort in buildings<\/li>\n<li>Buildings and human health<\/li>\n<li>Buildings and energy conservation<\/li>\n<li>Buildings and water conservation<\/li>\n<li>Building Infrastructures and Internet of Things (IoT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each project application must consist of a Canadian and Indian applicant (Principal Investigators) who together have developed a joint project proposal and project budget. The joint project proposal along with all supporting documentation required by each funding organization will be submitted to the \u201cDST-IC-IMPACTS Joint Call for Proposals\u201d online application website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: DST also requires three printed copies of each application delivered to DST by Post to Dr. Naveen Vashista, Scientist \u201cE\u201d, International Division, Department of Science and Technology, Room No. 18-F, Technology Bhavan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The online application will be sent to both DST and IC-IMPACTS together with all funding organization specific documents submitted as part of the online application process.<\/p>\n<p>The budget documentation must clearly delineate funding being requested from DST in support of Indian researcher participation and funding being requested from IC-IMPACTS for Canadian research participation. Cash and In-kind contributions from other collaborating partners, if any, must be clearly identified in the budget documentation.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>The joint application must include one Indian and one Canadian Principal Investigators, who would be responsible for technical as well as administrative co-ordination of the project and its periodic scientific and financial reporting to DST and IC-IMPACTS respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Principal Investigator (PI) and other investigators in India should be scientists\/ faculty members working in regular capacity in UGC recognized Universities \/ Deemed Universities \/ Academic Institutes and National Research &amp; Development Laboratories \/ Institutes. It is preferred that a member of the project team may be designated as Co-PI.<\/p>\n<p>Any Canadian Researcher eligible to receive funding from IC-IMPACTS and Tri-Council Agencies in Canada is eligible to apply as a principal investigator or research team member from Canada.<\/p>\n<h3>Funding Available<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Maximum amount: Travel support, accommodation, per diems and domestic travel within India (including airport transfers).<\/li>\n<li>Project duration: 1-2 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Indirect costs: N\/A.
