It reflects Canada\u2019s commitment to advancing AI leadership within the G7, with a focus on research that is both globally competitive and domestically translatable.<\/p>\n<p>This call prioritizes high-quality academic research in artificial intelligence while encouraging pathways that enable the translation of research into real-world applications. We encourage projects that contribute to advancing foundational and applied AI knowledge and that may demonstrate the potential to support adoption by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This is not a requirement for applying; rather it is considered an asset.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\">Available exclusively to <b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"25\">Full Members<\/b> as a membership benefit.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\">Applicants must meet standard <b data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"30\">Globalink Research Award<\/b> eligibility requirements.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"6,2,0\">Eligible for bilateral travel between Canada and G7 countries:\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"6,2,1,0,0\">Canadian applicants traveling to an eligible G7 country (UK, Japan, France, US, Germany, Italy).<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"6,2,1,1,0\">Collaborators from an eligible G7 country traveling to Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"6,3,0\">Projects may include up to <b data-path-to-node=\"6,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"27\">5 interns<\/b>, with a maximum of <b data-path-to-node=\"6,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"56\">2 Internship Units (IUs)<\/b> per intern (subject to applicable lifetime limits).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Funding<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\">Award Value: <b data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"13\">$6,000<\/b> per internship unit (IU).<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\">Funds are released following the standard Mitacs Globalink Research Award process.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\">These represent additional IUs outside the standard allocation stream.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Deadlines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\">Application Basis: First-come, first-served.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\">Once a sufficient number of applications are received to fully allocate the available IUs, the call will close.
