Offered by IIE in collaboration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usiu.ac.ke\/\">United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa)<\/a>, the program is funded by a grant from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnegie.org\/\">Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0Eligibility<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholars must have been born in Africa, live in the United States or Canada and work in an accredited college or university in either of those two countries.<\/li>\n<li>To be placed on a roster of available candidates, scholars also need to hold a terminal degree in their field and can hold any academic rank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Fellowship<\/h3>\n<p>The African Diaspora Fellow will receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a $200\/day stipend<\/li>\n<li>visa costs<\/li>\n<li>limited health insurance coverage<\/li>\n<li>round-trip international air travel and ground transportation costs to and from home and the U.S. or Canadian airport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"slideme\">\n<dl class=\"slideme__list\">\n<dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-types-of-fellowships-available\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Types of fellowships available<\/a><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-types-of-fellowships-available\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All-Discipline Fellowships<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Open to Project Requests from all disciplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Thematic Fellowships<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>In each competition cycle, the CADFP will offer fellowships focused on priority areas. Themes for the Fall 2017 competition are:\n<ul>\n<li>Health sciences and well\u2010being<\/li>\n<li>Climate change, resilience and adaptation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Multi-Institutional Fellowships<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>With this type of fellowship, fellows can visit multiple institutions. Hosting institutions must collaborate on a single Project Request. Project Requests are specifically encouraged that demonstrate a collaboration between established and newer universities. Collaborations between universities and research organizations are also an option with the multi-institutional Fellowship.
