Grants are awarded for specific research projects and cannot be used for travel only, attendance at conferences or conventions, editorial meetings, lecture tours or extended guest professorships.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the applicant&#8217;s academic status, the monthly award will amount to \u20ac1,840 for assistant lecturers, assistant professors and young lecturers, and \u20ac1,990 for professors. In rare special cases, up to \u20ac2,240 may be awarded. If the applicants&#8217; research project requires travel within Germany DAAD may provide a travel subsidy of up to \u20ac150. Airfare to Germany will NOT be covered.<\/p>\n<p>All DAAD Grantees receive mandatory health insurance through DAAD.
