IDRC and the National Research Foundation<\/a> (NRF) of South Africa are pleased to announce two new research chair initiatives. They build on NRF\u2019s existing South African Research Chairs Initiative<\/a> (SARChI), as well as on the Industrial Research Chairs program, funded in part by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada<\/a> (NSERC) and the Canada Research Chairs Program<\/a> (CRCP).<\/p>\n Funded jointly by IDRC and NRF, these initiatives are expected to:<\/p>\n Each project will consist of three co-principal investigators: one from South Africa (a SARChl chair); one from Canada (a Canada Research Chair or Industrial Research Chair); and a senior researcher from another country in Africa with a current NRF bilateral agreement, including Angola, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. All three researchers must be working in NSE fields.<\/p>\nOpportunity<\/h3>\n
