{"id":12119,"date":"2016-08-11T21:31:27","date_gmt":"2016-08-12T01:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/curo\/2016\/canadian-traditional-scholar-awards\/"},"modified":"2016-09-08T21:35:27","modified_gmt":"2016-09-09T01:35:27","slug":"canadian-traditional-scholar-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/2016\/canadian-traditional-scholar-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Traditional Scholar Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Traditional Fulbright awards are open to Canadian scholars in all fields and are designed to enable emerging and established scholars, post-doctoral researchers and experienced professionals to conduct research, teach, or undertake a combination of both activities for one semester or a full academic year at any university or research center of their choice in the United States.<\/p>\n<h3>Opportunity<\/h3>\n<p>While the competition is open to all disciplines, Fulbright Canada is particularly interested in encouraging research on contemporary issues relevant to Canada, the United States and the relationship between the two countries. Applicants should also clearly document the need to be in residence in Canada to carry out the project.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a Canadian citizen (Permanent residence is not sufficient).<\/li>\n<li>Hold a Ph.D. or equivalent professional\/terminal degree as appropriate.<br \/>\nCandidates outside academia (e.g., professionals, artists) with recognized professional standing and substantial professional accomplishments.<\/li>\n<li>Be proficient in English.<\/li>\n<li>Be in compliance with all J.
