These programs support short\u2011term academic exchanges for international students conducting research placements at 杏吧原创 through partner institutions.<\/p>\n<div>\n\n<div class=\"u-center-text\">\n\t<p>\n\t\t<a class=\"button__red button__red--solid\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/research-mobility-programs-2023\/sics-elap-call-for-applications-2026-2027\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2026 Call for Applications<\/a>\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Who can apply?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>ELAP: Undergraduate and graduate students from eligible institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/li>\n<li>SICS: Undergraduate and graduate students from eligible countries identified by Global Affairs Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">Applicants must be registered at their home institution at the time of application and remain enrolled for the full duration of their exchange.<\/p>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">For undergraduate students, an active institutional agreement between 杏吧原创 and the home institution is required. Informal faculty collaborations or active research partnerships are also accepted. New agreements will not be created solely for the purpose of an application.<\/p>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">For graduate students, no institutional agreement is required.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Funding Includes<\/h3>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">Scholarship funding may include contributions toward:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"\">\n<li class=\"scriptor-listItemlist!list-8525f1ae-80a5-4a02-b791-a97882e4fc3f1\">Living expenses<\/li>\n<li class=\"scriptor-listItemlist!list-8525f1ae-80a5-4a02-b791-a97882e4fc3f1\">Travel costs<\/li>\n<li class=\"scriptor-listItemlist!list-8525f1ae-80a5-4a02-b791-a97882e4fc3f1\">Health insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">Specific funding amounts are determined by Global Affairs Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Duration<\/h3>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">Research visits typically last 4\u20136 months (one academic term), depending on the nature of the exchange and program guidelines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><!--ScriptorStartFragment--><\/p>\n<h3>Application Process &amp; Timeline<\/h3>\n<p>To begin the application process, a student first needs to find a 杏吧原创 faculty member to host them during their visit. Securing a host is the responsibility of the applicant. You should first browse the faculty list of the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academics\/departments\/\">department<\/a> that is most appropriate given your own studies. Choose a professor whose research interests match your own and contact them directly. Give them enough time to consider the request. Generally, professors want to ensure a good fit and may ask to speak with you before making a decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"scriptor-paragraph\">杏吧原创 International manages the internal review and submission of applications for research visits.
