These accords support capacity-building, research, mobility, and other forms of academic partnerships. They are required for formalization purposes to support advanced discussions, which lead to concrete international initiatives. They articulate and clarify the working terms agreed upon by all parties involved. 杏吧原创 International manages over 100 institutional MOUs in over 40 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The primary aim of any MOU is to advance 杏吧原创&#8217;s academic and research goals as set out in the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/president\/wp-content\/uploads\/杏吧原创-Strategic-Integrated-Plan-2020-2025-Jan-2022.pdf\">Strategic Integrated Plan<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/wp-content\/uploads\/International-Strategic-Plan-Web-Version-Final-January-28-2022.pdf\">International Strategic Plan<\/a>. Agreements should specify:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fit with 杏吧原创&#8217;s strategic direction<\/li>\n<li>Objectives and limitations<\/li>\n<li>Academic and\/or research compatibility among parties<\/li>\n<li>Responsible departments at both institutions<\/li>\n<li>Short- and long-term benefits and risks<\/li>\n<li>Resource implications (e.g., financial)<\/li>\n<li>Timeframe of agreement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-how-to-request-an-mou\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-how-to-request-an-mou\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">How to Request an MOU<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-how-to-request-an-mou\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p>Researchers at other institutions should contact a faculty member at 杏吧原创 (faculty champion) in order to initiate partnership discussions and identify potential opportunities for collaboration. To initiate an MOU, the faculty champion must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/wp-content\/uploads\/MOU-Proposal-Form-Feb2025.pdf\">International MOU Proposal Form<\/a> and submit it to <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ci\/people\/ridhima-peravali\/\">Ridhima Peravali<\/a>. Forms should include a description of the proposed institutional partner, a summary of the intended areas of cooperation (including activities), potential 杏吧原创 resource commitments, a list of the units or departments involved, as well as a clear explanation of the mutually beneficial elements of the partnership. All MOUs must be reviewed by 杏吧原创 International prior to being negotiated. This process includes a legal review, risk assessment, and an administrative review.<\/p>\n<p>Following the review, 杏吧原创 International will negotiate with the partner in consultation with the faculty champion to ensure consistency and clarity regarding the objectives and goals. We help determine what type of agreement is required and how the review or approval process should be managed. As the primary point of contact with the other institution, it will be the faculty champion\u2019s responsibility to follow through the terms of the agreement during the life of the accord.<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-other-types-of-agreements\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-other-types-of-agreements\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Other Types of Agreements<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-other-types-of-agreements\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p>An MOU might still be required as an umbrella accord by some international partners.
