Students will explore all&nbsp;areas in Biochemistry including proteomics, genomics, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and physiology. The Biochemistry specialization at 杏吧原创 provides a holistic approach to research, covering areas such as toxicology, food science, and cross-species comparison outside of human biochemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate students will&nbsp;conduct their thesis research in laboratory facilities utilized by their 杏吧原创 supervisors or off campus at Institutes like Health Canada, Environment Canada, Agri-foods and Agriculture Canada, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the National Research Council of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or in industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Biochemistry Graduate Specialization\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7oGGfygLy8U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"msc-program-requirements\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">MSc Program Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must complete both the requirements of the appropriate master\u2019s program and the requirements of the collaborative program include completing at least two courses, which include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seminar in Biochemistry I (CHEM 5800\/BIOL 5002) &amp; Advances in Applied Biochemistry (CHEM 5806\/ BIOL 5004).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chemistry Seminar I (CHEM 5801).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thesis Requirement \u2013 a research thesis on a topic in Biochemistry supervised by a faculty member\u00a0in the Institute of Biochemistry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: In addition, the student\u2019s Advisory Committee may direct the student to take or audit further courses to complement the student\u2019s background and research program.
