On February 10, 2016, professor聽Piotr Dutkiewicz was featured in a Toronto Star article which addressed the recent NATO decision to bolster military defence in Eastern Europe聽in the hopes of deterring future aggression from Russia. Professor Dutkiewicz argues that such a move represents an escalation of聽conflict, and claims聽that additional military forces in the region will play in favour of domestic Russian propaganda: the latter聽has protested repeatedly against what it聽views as a NATO attempt to encircle Russia.
