{"id":14279,"date":"2025-03-13T12:37:12","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T16:37:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ces\/?p=14279"},"modified":"2025-03-13T12:37:12","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T16:37:12","slug":"call-for-applications-for-eu-canada-young-journalist-fellowship-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ces\/2025\/call-for-applications-for-eu-canada-young-journalist-fellowship-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications for EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship Now Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Delegation of the European Union to Canada announces the EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship is accepting applications!<\/p>\n<p>The EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship seeks a new generation of Canadian students and journalists who are interested in reporting about important issues of the European Union and be connected with European colleagues for professional development.<\/p>\n<p>Details about the Fellowship application are available to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeas.europa.eu\/delegations\/canada\/applications-open-eu-canada-young-journalist-fellowship-2025_en?s=220\"><strong>read here<\/strong><\/a> and the application deadline is Tuesday, May 6, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to be eligible, participants must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Actively enrolled in a Canadian university\/post-secondary institution or active in the field of journalism,<\/li>\n<li>Between the ages 18-30 years, and<\/li>\n<li>Canadian citizen or permanent resident.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The three selected winning candidates will be hosted for a week-long all expense paid study tour to learn about EU institutions and will receive a one year subscription membership to <a href=\"https:\/\/caj.ca\/\">Canadian Association of Journalists<\/a> (CAJ). The CAJ is a national professional organization which represents journalists in Canada and supports public interest advocacy. The Fellowship is a partnership between the CAJ and the Delegation of the European Union to Canada since 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The week-long study tour is funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeas.europa.eu\/delegations\/canada_en?s=220\">Delegation of the European Union to Canada<\/a> and scheduled for the week of November 17, 2025.
